Tommy Lawrence is the founder and Executive Director of Interpreta, a Chilean organization that since 2016 has combined technology, social listening, and applied research to understand how migration and refuge are discussed in the Spanish-speaking Americas’ digital space. An Ashoka Fellow since 2023, he works from Santiago, Chile, on projects spanning several countries in the region. His career began with applications supporting migrants and refugees and, through various studies, he has gathered evidence on digital narratives surrounding migration and insights into turning data into stories.
